A perfect day in Antibes

My personal journey since Jasmins Studio

Do you only have one day to discover Antibes?
So don't try to see everything.
Here is the itinerary I would personally recommend to my guests.
It allows you to discover in a single day the three facets that, in my opinion, make up the charm of Antibes: Cape Town, the Old Town and the Mediterranean.

🕘 9 h — Direction la Garoupe

Start from Jasmins Studio by car and head towards Cap d'Antibes.
First step: the chapel of La Garoupe.
Park nearby and walk up to the chapel.
Take the time to admire the panoramic view.
It's an excellent way to start the day: you immediately discover Antibes' exceptional location between the sea and the mountains.

🕙 10 h — Descendez vers le Cap

Head back towards Cape Town.
Don't try to go fast.
Observe the villas, the gardens, the remarkable trees and the small openings that sometimes allow a glimpse of the sea.
Cap d'Antibes has a very different character from the city centre: the properties are hidden behind their walls and vegetation is omnipresent.

🕚 11 h — Le sentier du Tire-Poil

Stop to browse a section of the coastal path, known as Tire-Poil.
Let me be clear: a part.
There's no need to turn your day into a strenuous hike.
Just a few hundred meters is enough to discover this wild coast, its rocks, its vegetation and its magnificent views of the Mediterranean.
The trail is now a protected and managed sensitive natural area, managed by the city of Antibes.
And if you have seen my page dedicated to Cap d'Antibes, you now know where to look to extend this walk.

🕛 12 h 30 — Déjeuner

You now have several options.
Option 1: Lunch on site
You are staying in Cape Town and are looking for a restaurant in the area.
Option 2: Return to Antibes
You walk back down towards the town and have lunch near the old town.
Option 3: Picnic
If the weather permits, buy some products at the market or in a local shop (caterer, bakery, etc.) and improvise a picnic.
I prefer to let you choose..
A successful day in Antibes should not be a race against time.

🕑 14 h — Le Vieil Antibes

It's time for a complete change of atmosphere.
Park your car and enter the Old Antibes.
Start with the ramparts.
Then go to the museum Picasso if you wish to visit it.
Then, lose yourself in the alleyways.
The succession of ramparts, Grimaldi Castle, historic alleyways, the Safranier, the Provençal market and small squares constitutes precisely what the official guide presents as the heritage heart of Antibes.

🕓 16 h — Une pause bien méritée

This is the perfect time to take a break.
And I propose a very simple idea: an ice cream.
If you like coconut, this is my first choice.
Then continue your walk at a leisurely pace.

🕔 17 h — Port Vauban et Nomade

Then head towards the Port Vauban.
Look at the boats.
Then go to the Nomadic.
It's a very nice way to end the visit to the historic center.
The contrast is striking: old stones → ramparts → sea → yachts → contemporary sculpture.
In just a few hundred meters, you traverse several centuries of Antibes' history.

🕕 18 h — La mer pour terminer

If you still want to enjoy the Mediterranean, why not end the day with a swim?
You can reach one of the beaches of Antibes Juan-les-Pins or return to La Garoupe.
And if you would prefer to simply sit somewhere facing the sea, do so.
You have already seen a lot.

🌅 Et si vous avez encore de l’énergie …

Another option is to end your day with a walk along the coast.
You can, in particular, join the Amiral de Grasse promenade, which offers beautiful panoramas and is one of the places recommended by the Tourist Office.

⭐ Mon conseil à mes hôtes

A day in Antibes should definitely not look like this:
9:00 AM: monument — 9:37 AM: another monument — 10:12 AM: museum — 11:03 AM: beach — 11:48 AM: parking lot…
You're on vacation!
I advise you to remember instead four major stages :
① La Garoupe
For the eyesight.
② Cap d'Antibes
For nature and the coastline.
③ Old Antibes
For the history, the alleyways and the heritage.
④ Port Vauban
To end on the shores of the Mediterranean.
And between these four stages: Take your time.
This is probably the best advice I can give you.

🚗 Depuis Jasmins Studio

This excursion is particularly easy from your accommodation.
You are in the immediate vicinity of Golfe-Juan and therefore you do not need to cross Cannes to reach Antibes.
And above all, you can return to Jasmins Studio whenever you want.
A day in Antibes can therefore be adapted to your pace: a long full day, a half day, an extra swim or returning to the apartment for a break before going out again.
